Time to start using this thing again

OK, what's been going on since 2009....LOTS!!!!

Not going to try to reminisce too much, just start fresh from today, unless things pop to mind.

Going to start with Emily because she is standing beside me as I type. Mind you she's usually leaning on me so it's actually nice that she is standing on her own 2 feet lol :p Love you Mills!!

Ok...Emily.....
* turned 9 in August ...annoying 9's - yay!! lol
* had a Camping Slumber party for her birthday and loved it. She had 7 friends over, they camped in a tent in the back yard, had a fire, toasted marshmallows, had a midnight feast, played the chocolate game, stayed up with 3 of the girls until 2:30am! (the others fell asleep around 12:30).
* is in Year 3.
* Cried when she found out she was going to have Mrs Hoskins for a teacher but now LOVES her (I think she'd bring her home with her if she could!)
* Is known as Lemily in her class because there are 3 Emily's... Emily J, Emalee S and Emily L. Instead of calling them that, Mrs Hoskins calls them Lemily, Jemily and Semily :)
* Is doing really well at school and is doing particularly well at Maths.
* Is very "blonde" at times... I tell her all the time, "lucky you're pretty sweetie!" She giggles!
* has lost her ipod Touch :(
* Has a gorgeous heart and a contagious laugh!
* Loves writing, drawing, tennis, netball...correction.... she LURRRVVVVVEEEEESSS netball!
* Played netball again this season for ACE in Netta 9's and won her teams Best and Fairest award (she won it last year too for Netta 8's). She is a really great little player who seems to really understand the game. Her favourite position was GA and she liked GD too. She practices goal shooting for quite a long time every day.
* Broke her arm at the beginning of the year by falling off a ripstick. She had an ear infection at the time so we think that must have caused problems with her balance because she is usually so co-ordinated.
* Started Taekwondo this year. Not sure if she likes it all that much. She had a term off and is going back next term. She definitely prefers things like netball and tennis where it is all spontaneous and not planned movements etc
* Friends - Holly, Paige, Anni, Annabel, Emalee S, Shannon, Brooke
* When she grows up she wants to be.... a teacher or a doctor although she's not too sure about the blood
* Favourite foods: Prawns (although realised recently that "they're not so fun to peel are they mum!", Sushi (Chicken and Avocado), Potato Salad, Sausages, Brocoli, Mint Slice Biscuits, Drumstick Icecreams.
* Likes... Colouring in, drawing, listening to music, school, sport - playing and watching it, Carlton Football Club, riding her bike and ripstick, swimming, playing with our dogs
* Hates... Bananas and anything banana flavoured (except Banana Bread..wierd!), beans,


Sarah:
* Turned 6 in May and got a dog "Toffee" for her birthday
* Didn't have a party this year but had a party with her whole Prep class last year at McDonalds and Ronald McDonald came!! yes Ronald!! I think the parents were more excited than the kids...he was very cool! lol
* is in Year 1 and has the wonderful Ms Donohue for a teacher
* is a reading machine and is at Level 22, Matt hates the fact that she reads better than he did at the same age...nothing like some friendly sibling rivalry.
* is crazy smart, picks things up really quickly, is doing really well at school and is currently loving creating PowerPoint presentations
* is...umm.... quite spirited!! I tell her all of the time not to "lawyer" me! She will argue her point until the cows come home and sometimes her arguements are so logical I find myself starting to think "ooh, maybe you're right...oh, hang on, no I'm the parent!"
* She has this thing about sucking our nose...totally gross and wierd!
* Started Taekwondo this year and LOVES it!!! I've actually been really suprised by how much she loves it because I thought she'd be the one wanting to do ballet and dancing but she seems to have found her thing in Taekwondo and loves going every Tuesday and Thursday night.
* Just completed her first grading for Taekwondo and will be awarded her yellow belt after the school holidays.
* When she grows up she wants to be: Horse Rider or a Super-Model
* Favourite foods - chocolate cake, corn, carrot, Mint Slice Biscuits, Mint Chocolate and Mint Icecream, Brocoli
* Likes: Taekwondo, hugging and love, reading, school, Mrs Donohue, mummy, daddy, Matthew and Emily, playing with my dogs (Kimi and Toffee), playing with my sister, jewellery and fashion and beauty
* Hates: prawns, beans,

Matt
* Just turned 11...11!!!?! How has that happened so quickly!?!?
* Is in Year 6 at school.
* Cried when he found out he had Miss Flood. Still not too sure about her but she is brilliant for him because she is pushing him to achieve to his potential
* has developed a good friendship with Brayden who shares the same crazy sense of humour.
* playing AFL football for the Aspley Hornets again. Not sure how much he's enjoying it but continues to train and play each week. Loves watching the game though. Loves the Brisbane Lions and is starting to get on the Carlton bandwagon!
* does Taekwondo and is a blue belt. Competed in his first competition last year. Was a lot tougher than we thought (tougher than his instructor had expected too). He did so well and we were so proud of the way he just kept going. It was tough work and he was physically exhausted after each fight but he kept going. It was such a wonderful day for him. Matt has tended to give up when things get a bit tough but he pushed through it and his pride in himself was triple our pride!
* Still loving music
* Still loves reading. He goes to bed most nights and reads for hours sometimes. There have been nights where Steve and I have been going to bed and he's still awake reading. He's read Harry Potter series, The Rangers Apprentice series, Eragon (Inheritance) series, Garth Nix Keys to the Kingdom series, not to mention countless other books.
* still writing his Roman Hero novel
* has a wicked sense of humour and I love his laugh
* had first big crush last year. Spent some time with Ella (in his grade & Em is friends with her little sister). Realized how lovely and pretty and awesome Ella was and after a few weeks, decided to ask her out to go see a movie. Poor Ella was so upset as she didn't know how to tell him she just wanted to be friends.
